Born in 1979 in London, England, actress Rosamund Mary Elizabeth Pike was the sole child of a classically trained violinist mother, Caroline (Friend), and a opera singer father, Julian Pike. Her parents worked hard and she travelled extensively throughout Europe during her childhood. Pike was a student at Bristol's Badminton School and started acting at the National Youth Theatre.
